Wood and processing

The wood from which the urn is made is characterized by its warm color and fine grain, making each urn unique. The careful handcrafting guarantees the highest quality and durability. To guarantee a natural product, we use a finish based on beeswax, carnauba wax, and natural oils. We do not use varnishes or resins. This is the responsibility of Tania Flores from Managua, Nicaragua, and her family business, Crafted Urns , where the urn is produced.

Wood is a natural material, and the color and grain may vary from the product images. Each urn is unique. The photos are a reference for what the final product will look like. Wood naturally darkens over time. Opening and closing mechanism:

The bottom of the urn features a flat base with a closable opening in the center. The size of the opening varies depending on the urn. The opening diameter can be found in the product details above.

The lid of the opening is attached to the urn with a twist lock. The urn can be opened and closed using the included wooden key (see illustration).

After cremation at the crematorium, the ashes are placed in a so-called ash bag and sealed. Your funeral director will then place the ash bag in your urn and store it for you until the burial.

Please feel free to discuss the procedure and the various options for storage and transport with your undertaker.

Scope of delivery

The urn is delivered in a securely packaged jute bag for additional protection against damage. A wooden key for opening the urn and a paper funnel are also included.

Shipment

As a rule, the urn is ready for dispatch within 1-2 working days after ordering and is sent free of charge within Germany with Deutsche Post/DHL.
